Recipe Ready

Simplifying the way you find ingredients for your next recipe. Recipe Ready is an app designed to help users locate ingredients as well as store recipes for easier prep when cooking at home.

The Problem

79% of US adults who live with at least one other person, say they sit down for dinner at least once a week.
62% of that group say they would like to have family dinners “much more often.”

The Background

People find it difficult to go shopping and find all the items they need in one place. It’s also hard to purchase everything needed for a meal within a short time frame.

Goal

Research the current standard of locating and purchasing ingredients for at home recipes and design an experience that helps the user save time gathering what they need in order to enjoy more family meals at home.

Key Insights

Users found it difficult to locate the individual ingredients they needed for a recipe.

Locating and gathering ingredients takes too much time for users to have everything they need for their recipes.

Minimize the amount of time it takes to locate recipes and their ingredients.

The Site Map

The site map is a crucial part of our IA (Information Architecture). IA helps visualize the content strategy and gives us an overview of what our product will include.

Color Pallet

Orange indicates optimism and energy and this is why it was chosen to be the primary color. Most of our users show signs of feeling overwhelmed and stress. These colors help combat those feelings and make the app a more enjoyable experience.

Prototype

During the prototyping process, I found components and variants to be vital and extremely useful for helping navigate the multiple recipes throughout the app.
